The defendant Victor Montanez was charged with assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes ^ 53a-59 (a) (1). After a trial by a jury he was found guilty as charged and sentenced to a term of not less than five nor more than ten years. The defendant Louis Jeustiniano was tried by a jury pursuant to a one-count information charging him with assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a) (1).
