Roberts, an employee of petitioner Bralove, was killed in the course of his employment, by the alleged negligence of respondent. His widow, who was also his administratrix, claimed and has accepted an award of compensation under the Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (March 4, 1927, c. 509, 44 Stat. 1924), made applicable as a workmen’s compensation law in the District of Columbia by Act of May 17, 1928, c. 612, 45 Stat. 600.
