Edwards, Senior Circuit Judge On June 12, 2014, sixteen-year-old Yaakov Naftali Fraenkel ("Naftali") and two of his classmates were taken hostage by members of Hamas while on their way home from school in Israel's West Bank. A half-hour after they were taken hostage, the boys were killed by their captors.
