On the 11th of March, 1916, Samuel L. Chase and Hannah M. Chase, his wife, of Harford County, Maryland, executed a mortgage of certain real estate in said county to Henry A. Whitaker, to secure the payment of the sum of $1,500' due and owing to him, which they covenanted to pay at the expiration of two years from the date of the mortgage, and the mortgage was recorded on the 4th of May, 1916. On the 27th of November, 1918, the mortgage was assigned by Whitaker to The Second National Bank of Bel Air, and the assignment was recorded February 26th, 1919, and, on the 13th of March, 1919, it was…
