MARTIN, Justice.

Appellee, Houston Pearson, plaintiff below, recovered damages in the amount of $10,000 from appellant, Lubbock Bus Company, on the grounds that defendant’s bus driver, while operating a bus with defective brakes, ran into the rear of plaintiff’s Cadillac while stopped for a red traffic light in the city of Lubbock. The $10,000 in damages was based upon jury findings that plaintiff suffered personal injury in the sum of $7,500, probable future medical and hospital bills, $2,000, and $500 damage to his Cadillac.
