Red Roof Inns, Inc. (“Red Roof Inns”), a corporation registered in Indiana, and its employee John Heim 1 (collectively “Red Roof’) bring this interlocutory appeal from the trial court’s denial of Red Roofs two motions for summary judgment on Michael S. Purvis’ claim for the negligent hiring of an independent contractor. Purvis was injured when he fell from a motel roof being repaired by his employer, Reiehart Building and Remodeling, Inc.
