Plaintiff’s husband, a police officer for the city of Los Angeles, committed suicide in April, 1934. Within six months, plaintiff made application to the Board of Pension Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles for a widow’s pension under article 17, section 183 of the charter of the city of Los Angeles. The board denied the application in February, 1935.
