¶ 1. Glenn Allen Thayer, a WiS. Stat. ch. 980 committed patient, appeals a trial court's orders denying his motion for an evidentiary hearing pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 980.09(2)(b) (1997-98), 1 his petition for discharge and his motion for a new § 980.09(2)(a) hearing. Thayer argues that he had the right to present documentary evidence at the § 980.09(2)(a) probable cause hearing, that the burden of persuasion was erroneously placed, upon him at the probable cause hearing, that the facts introduced at the probable cause hearing warranted a full evidentiary hearing pursuant to § 980.09(2)(b),…
