SULLIVAN, Judge:

In June and July 1984 appellant was tried at Fort Hood, Texas, by a general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted of kidnapping for the purpose of taking indecent liberties, taking indecent liberties with a child, and assault with intent to rape, in violation of Article 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 934. Appellant was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, 30 years’ confinement, total forfeitures, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade. The convening au*144thority approved, and…
