Petitioners, Stephen Cook (a reporter for the newspaper “Independent-Journal”), Jack Craemer (editor of the “In depen dent-Journal”) and California Newspapers, Inc. (owner and publisher of the “Independent-Journal”), seek this writ of mandate to compel respondent superior court to vacate its order prohibiting the inspection of the transcripts of the testimony of witnesses at grand jury proceedings.
