Pernie White, a colored boy nineteen, years of age, had been employed by the Kentucky Public Elevator Company for about six months as a “sweeper” when in June, 1916, he lost his life while attempting to sweep out one of his employer’s large grain tanks. This is an action by his personal representatives to recover damages for his death, alleged to have resulted from negligence of the employer in failing to furnish him a reasonably safe place in which to work.
