On November 30, 2006, members of the federal Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) and members of the Prattville Police Drug Enforcement Unit (sometimes referred to collectively as “the law-enforcement officers”) intercepted a package suspected of containing marijuana. After a dog trained to sniff out drugs alerted on the package, the package was opened and the contents were examined. The package contained a green, leafy substance consistent with marijuana.
