Defendant appeals from his conviction for possession of a controlled substance. He argues that the trial court erred in denying his motion to suppress evidence found as a result of a search of a coat that was in his possession at the arrest. We affirm.
The arresting officer testified to the following facts at the suppression hearing. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on March 6, 1996, Officer Frambes was patrolling in a marked car in the area of Fourth and Main Streets in Springfield.
