The petitioner Thomas C. McConnell, a lawyer, was summarily found guilty of contempt of court for statements made while representing the Parmelee Transportation Company in an antitrust suit for treble damages *231and an injunction. The complaint charged that a number of defendants had unlawfully conspired to destroy Parmelee’s business by restraining and monopolizing trade in violation of the Sherman Act.1 Petitioner and his co-counsel, Lee A.
