Defendant-Appellant Jonathan Curshen appeals from the district court’s judgment in favor of Plaintiff-Appellee Securities and Exchange Commission (“the SEC”). In 1999, Mr. Curshen made approximately thirty-five anonymous Internet postings about a company called Freedom Golf. As a result of these postings, the SEC brought this civil action against him alleging that he committed securities fraud by: (1) failing to disclose that he had been compensated for promoting Freedom Golf, and (2) hyperlinking to an Investor Report on Freedom Golf that…
