In an amended petition for a writ of habeas corpus filed November 20, 2006, the petitioner, Richard Hamlin, alleged that his attorneys at his criminal trial provided ineffective assistance of counsel when they failed to cross-examine adequately one of the state’s witnesses and failed to present evidence of third party culpability. Following a trial on the merits, the habeas court denied the petition for a writ of habeas corpus.
