In Gordon v. United States, 134 Ct. Cl. 840, 140 F. Supp. 263 (1956), this court ruled that, under the Pay Readjustment Act of 1942, 56 Stat. 359, 367-68, military officers who served before the end of hostilities in World War I, who were thereafter retired and recalled to active duty, and who were then “re-retired” after the passage of the Pay Readjustment Act were entitled to count, in computing their retired pay under that statute, the years they had spent on the retired list.
