This is an action of contract. There are three counts in the declaration. The first count is on a joint and several promissory note dated January 7, 1919, signed by all the defendants as makers, payable to the order of the plaintiff. The second count alleges that the plaintiff at the request of the defendants applied $25,000 of its savings department assets to the purchase of two hundred shares of its stock for the defendants, which the defendants received and agreed to pay to the plaintiff therefor on demand, and that demand has been made and payment refused.
