YOUNG, District Judge.

I. INTRODUCTION

The plaintiff, Pamela Whitzell (“Whitzell”), brings this action pursuant to section 405(g) of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 405(g), seeking judicial review of the final decision of the Commissioner of Social Security (the “Commissioner”). Whitzell challenges the decision of Administrative Law Judge Barry H. Best (the “hearing officer”) denying her applications for Supplemental Security Income and for Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits.
