This suit was instituted by a bill in equity, filed by appellee Thomas W. Miller as alien property custodian of the United States, against appellants William 0. Paul and Mary Paul, his wife, and John Paul to foreclose a mortgage against a farm of 83 acres of land in McLean county, given to secure an indebtedness of $10,000 and interest, executed on August 21, 1906, by appellants to John Paul, father of said William C.
