MILLER, Chief Justice.
This original proceeding was brought pursuant to SDCL 12-22-35 to determine an election dispute arising out of the primary election held on June 2, 1992, in Yankton County, South Dakota.
BACKGROUND
James Abbott (Abbott) and Bernie Hun-hoff (Hunhoff) filed nominating petitions in the office of the South Dakota Secretary of State seeking the nomination as the Democratic candidate for South Dakota State Senator, Senate District 18, comprised solely of Yankton County.
