For beating a man who they claimed owed them money and then dragging him toward their car, defendants were each convicted after a trial to the court of first-degree kidnapping, second- and third-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. 1 On appeal, defendants assign error to the trial court’s denial of their motion for judgments of acquittal on the kidnapping charges, arguing that the state failed to prove that they moved the victim “from one place to another,” ORS 163.225(l)(a); ORS 163.235.
