These cases arise under the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. §§ 201-21° inclusive.

The plaintiffs are twelve employees of the defendant company, which is engaged in the scrap iron and metal business in Baltimore. Whether any or all of these plaintiffs are entitled to invoke the provisions of this Act depends upon the character of their own labor, and not upon the character of any business which the defendant company may have engaged in, apart from the actual work of these plaintiffs.
