This is an application to this court that it take original jurisdiction and issue its prerogative writ of mandamus on the application of petitioner, a private person, against the officer of a municipal corporation in a pending election matter. The original jurisdiction of this court is not challenged, but its right to issue its prerogative writ depends upon whether there exists sufficient jurisdictional cause for its prerogative use.
