This is a suit for damages for personal injuries suffered by Getz, a pedestrian, in collision with the defendant Weiss’ automobile at a street crossing.

The declaration contained eight counts. In the first count it was averred that the defendant was guilty of common-law negligence. In the other counts it was averred, respectively, that the defendant had violated several city ordinances and state statutes — by exceeding the speed limit, in failing to have brakes and lights in proper working order, and in driving recklessly.
