This case was filed pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §§ 1983 and 2000e-2(a)(l), by an individual seeking redress for the putative violation of his civil rights by an alleged act of employment discrimination. Jurisdiction of this court over the claims presented is predicated on 28 U.S.C. §§ 1331 and 1343 for the civil rights claim, and 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-5(f)(3) for the employment discrimination (Title VII) claim. The matter is presently before this court on defendants’ motion for summary judgment. 1
