Stephanie Urie, a former student and teaching fellow at the Yale Divinity School, brings this action against the University seeking damages for alleged gender discrimination in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. §§ 1681-1688 (“Title IX”). She alleges that defendant failed to protect her against sexual harassment by a professor while she was student, and later failed to take effective action to address her concerns about the professor’s behavior towards her while she was a teaching fellow.
