Defendant was tried and convicted in the recorder’s court of the city of Detroit, of first degree murder of his wife, Lillian Greeson, at their apartments in said city on the 19th day of July, 1920, and sentenced to life imprisonment in the State prison at Marquette. The case was removed to this court by writ of error. The voluminous record of over 1,000 pages shows a protracted and exhaustive trial with active effort on the part of defendant’s counsel to make and save all possible objections known to the technique of criminal defense, there being in the record 97 requests and 210 assignments…
