SULLIVAN, Chief Judge:

Appellant was tried by a general court-martial at Fort Ord, California, in February 1989. Contrary to his pleas, the members of this court-martial found him guilty of sodomy with a child under 16 and indecent assault on that same child, in violation of Articles 125 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 925 and 934, respectively. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 20 years, total forfeitures, and reduction to pay grade E-l. The convening authority approved the sentence.
