On August 12, 1987, Magistrate Denson of this court granted plaintiff’s motion to strike Norman W. Young’s answer to plaintiff’s complaint on the grounds that Young failed to file a written claim pursuant to Rule C(6) of the Supplemental Rules for Certain Admiralty and Maritime Claims of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (hereinafter Supplemental Rules) before the filing of an answer.
