FUNDERBURK, Justice.

The Travelers Insurance Company was defendant below and appellant here. Samuel H. Cox was plaintiff below and appel-lee here. The parties will be referred to as plaintiff and defendant, as in the trial court, or as insured and insurer.

The suit was one to recover upon an insurance contract consisting of a master policy providing group insurance for the employees of the Pure Oil Company, and a certificate to the plaintiff as a member of the group.
