Judgment, Supreme Court, New York County, rendered January 12, 1976, convicting defendant, after a jury trial, of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree and in the fifth degree, unanimously reversed, on the law, and the matter remanded for a new trial. Defendant acknowledged possession of cocaine in the presence of an undercover officer, but offered testimony that a friend, a paid informant, over a two-month period repeatedly tried to induce and encourage him to obtain the drug for a third party, the officer.
