In this action plaintiff sought recovery of $11,300 for personal injuries and property damage, and defendant by counterclaim sought recovery of $51,600 for personal injuries and property damage sustained when plaintiff’s eastbound 1949 Chevrolet coach and defendant’s westbound 1951 Plymouth coach collided at a point on U. S. Highway No. 24 six or seven hundred feet east of the intersection of that highway with Jackson County Highway 8-N.
