Respondent McCarty is the widow of E. A. McCarty, deceased, who, for some years prior to his death, made advances of large sums of money to respondents Carey and wife, who were engaged in the logging business. In 1923, the Careys were indebted to McCarty, and as a consideration for past indebtedness, present and future advancements, they executed a mortgage on certain real estate in Idaho in his favor.
