In this appeal taken from a judgment of conviction by a United States Magistrate, the scope and standard of review are the same as those in an appeal to a Circuit Court of Appeals from a District Court. Rule 8(d), Federal Rules for the Trial of Minor Offenses before United States Magistrates. In this case, Channel was charged with several offenses in violation of Md.Ann.Code art. 66% (1970 Repl.
