TJOFLAT, Circuit Judge:

Gregory Hunt is a death-row inmate in the Alabama prison system as a result of his conviction for capital murder on June 19, ■ 1990. Hunt seeks a writ of habeas corpus on the ground that he received ineffective assistance of counsel in violation of the Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.
