This action is brought to recover damages for the anticipatory breach or repudiation by defendants of an alleged irrevocable letter of credit issued by them in favor of plaintiff. The complaint alleges that prior to October 18, 1919, plaintiff entered into a contract with the Italian Ministry of Shipping, acting for and on behalf of the government of Italy, under and by virtue of which the plaintiff agreed to sell to the said Italian Ministry of *284Shipping, and the latter agreed to buy from the plaintiff, two cargoes of coal in quantities and upon terms theretofore agreed upon and for the sum…
