This is an adverse possession case. Peoria Mitchell brought this action against Edward Ham-mons, alleging that she was the owner of an undivided one-half interest in a forty-acre tract in St. Francis County, Arkansas. She sought partition of the property and a decree quieting title. In response to the petition, Hammons asserted that he had acquired title by adverse possession and that Mitchell’s claim was barred by laches.
