THE COURT.

This action was instituted to establish as county charges several claims theretofore rejected either in whole or in part, by the board of supervisors of the defendant county. From the judgment entered upon a directed verdict the defendant appeals. The complaint consists of six separate causes of action, each for personal services alleged to have been performed and expenses incurred during the month of July, 1925—either by the plaintiff personally or his assignors—while assisting the district attorney of the defendant county in the detection of crime and the gathering of evidence to…
