After approximately nineteen and one-half years of continuous at-will employment with the defendant Aro Manufacturing Company, Inc. (Aro), the plaintiff was fired from his job. In his amended complaint in the Superior Court, he alleged that his discharge on October 20, 1986, was wrongful and without good or just cause; that he had not worked for four weeks previous to that date due to a workplace injury; and, that prior to his firing, other employees of Aro who had been injured at work and filed workers’ compensation claims had been discharged from employment.
