Plaintiff Anders instituted this action against the Hyundai Motor America Corporation (“Hyundai”), Vann York Pontiac, Inc., (“dealership”) and General Motors Acceptance Corporation (“GMAC”) pursuant to N.C.G.S. §§ 20-351 et seq., the New Motor Vehicles War ranties Act (“New Vehicles Act”) and N.C.G.S. § 75-1.1 for unfair and deceptive trade practices to recover losses incurred on account of his purchase of an allegedly defective Hyundai automobile.
