William Hickey filed his complaint in the superior court of Cook county asking for an accounting of certain moneys and securities claimed by him and in the possession of his sisters, Alice Hickey and Helen Curran. He also claimed title by virtue of a resulting trust in certain real estate conveyed to his father, claiming that he had purchased it with his own money and that it should now be reconveyed to him.
