Plaintiffs seek to enjoin Senate Bill (SB) 1172 from taking effect on January 1, 2013. The bill prohibits licensed mental health professionals in California from engaging in sexual orientation change efforts (“SOCE”) with minors. Plaintiffs, who are therapists, parents and minors, contend SB 1172 violates their First and Fourteenth Amendment rights. Their motion came on for hearing on November 30, 2012.
