In October, 1903, C. C. Palfrey, Jr., was nominated at a primary election as the candidate of the Democratic party for the office of marshal of the city court of New Iberia. Palfrey died subsequently to his nomination, and thereupon the Democratic executive committee of the parish appointed Alexander Chargois as the party candidate for said office.
