The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”), 29 U.S.C. § 1001 et seq., permits participants or beneficiaries of an ERISA plan to bring a civil action to recover benefits due to them under the terms of their plan, to enforce their rights under the terms of the plan, or to clarify their rights to future benefits under the terms of the plan. See 29 U.S.C. § 1132(a)(1)(B). Section 502(g) of ERISA, 29 U.S.C. § 1132(g), also provides that a court in an ERISA case may, in its discretion, allow “reasonable attorney’s fees and…
