Plaintiff Reisler is a rent stabilized tenant of Apartment No. 4-C at premises 60 Gramercy Park North, Manhattan, *313under a lease renewed from November 1, 1980 to October 31, 1982. Plaintiff Steinberg occupied Apartment No. 4-D. Defendants are the owners and managing agents of the premises. Steinberg, because he was given custody of his two children after his divorce, sought a larger apartment. Reisler wished to vacate his apartment upon purchasing a new home.
