In 1974, Prior Brothers, Inc. (PBI) began financing its farming operations through the Bank of California, N. A. (Bank). The Bank's loans were secured by PBI's equipment and included any after-acquired property. On March 22, 1974, the Bank filed a financing statement perfecting its security interest. In April 1976, PBI needed a new tractor to use in its potato farming operation, as its tractor had broken down. A.
