Pilling sued to recovér of the defendant the sum of $2,500 on an accident insurance policy which provides for the payment of that sum “for the loss of one hand by severance at or above the wrist joint.” As the result of the accidental discharge of a shot gun which he was cleaning, the fourth and fifth fingers of his left hand and a part of the palm and a part of his wrist were shot away.
