BOWNES, Circuit Judge.

This is an appeal from a conviction after a jury trial in the United States District Court for the District of Maine for distribution of valium, a schedule IV controlled substance, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). Appellant alleges two grounds for overturning the conviction. First, he asserts that the court erred in rejecting his claim that the indictment should be dismissed under the Interstate Agreement on Detainers Act, 18 App. U.S.C. § 1.
