This case was tried in the circuit court on appeal from commissioners. The claim was for the board *314and care of the decedent for nearly six years immediately preceding his death, which took place August 15, 1882.

It appeared in evidence that the claimant in 1876 was living on a small place owned by herself, and was earning her living by cleaning house and doing other similar work for her neighbors. She bad no family, and decedent had a mortgage of three hundred dollars on her place. Decedent had children, but for some reason he went to board at the house of the claimant. lie was…
